An art teacher at Harpeth Hall and Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville and St. Andrew’s-Sewanee School in Sewanee, Tenn., South Africa native Rosie Paschall landed in Tennessee via England. Her earlier works focus on the complex colors, patterns and politics of her native country during the era of Apartheid. Her later work moved toward printmaking. The monoprint pictured here (“Orestes,” 2000) is from the Divine Messengers series of prints celebrating Greek gods and heroes.
