Serbian-born Vesna Pavlovic received an MFA at Columbia University. She came to Nashville to teach photography and digital media at Vanderbilt University, where she received the Robert Penn Warren Fellowship. She has held solo shows at Frist Center for the Visual Arts in Nashville, Museum of History of Yugoslavia in Belgrade and Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento. She had a solo presentation at the Untitled, 12th Istanbul Biennial in 2011 and has exhibited works across Europe. Her photographs explore a range of subjects, from anthropology to the physical properties of photographs themselves. The metallic print pictured here, “Six Color Polaroid Tests,” 2011, was included in Seed SPACE’s inaugural CSArt bundle in 2011.
